If you don’t know your RSS from your JSON or your API from your XPath then this BootCamp session is for you. I’ll explain all the scary acronyms and show how the use of API’s and mashups can be used to display your data in different ways. By the end of the session you’ll have a few ideas on what you can do with your data and be exposed to a few tools and services that can be used to help you get started.
A little bit of technical understanding would be helpful, but not necessary. I’ll be explaining a few concepts using some live demonstrations so if you can, bring along your laptop to follow along. If you do bring a laptop along it would be useful if you installed:
- Firefox
- The Firebug plug-in
- Totally optional & don’t let this scare you off – Some sort of local PHP based web-server (MAMP, WAMP)
