I work as an academic in Media and Communication at RMIT in Melbourne. I am currently enrolled in a PhD (by project) to establish an online digital archive for all the staff and student films/screen productions made in Australian Universities. I will be doing this on behalf of ASPERA which is the peak discipline body for Screen Production teaching staff in Australian Universities.

My background is in film and video production and I have always been interested in memory and cultural heritage - so this project not only fits in with my day to day teaching (in media production) but my more philosophical bent toward the 'memory' sector.

Doing this PhD has been a steep learning curve and I have had to learn many new languages from the library, archiving, repository and computer science sectors. I feel I can better talk archiving & cataloguing, data-bases and meta-data - but am keen to be able to 'walk the walk'.
