Mike Jones

I work as a Project Officer and Archival Research Officer in the eScholarship Research Centre at the University of Melbourne.

I am involved in many projects within our Centre - from mapping, visualising and analysing the structures of standards relevant to the Victorian Community Sector and relating areas of semantic equivalence, as part of regulatory reform; to work as the lead Data Archivist in Melbourne for the Australian Social Science Data Archive; to involvement in various Australian National Data Registry projects at various levels; to listing, digitising and writing guides for digital and paper-based archives. Plus plenty more.

Beyond that, I have a Masters in Art History; I am classically trained pianist who made a deal at the crossroads and now plays in blues bands; I'm a budding photographer and sometime artist; I write; and I'm planning to teach myself web design if I can squeeze a couple of spare hours out of each week.
