I am currently pursuing a PhD program in ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. I worked as a lecturer of English, a public servant with the central government, and a professional conference interpreter before I commenced my doctorate at QUT in 2007.

My PhD project explores digital literacy and social change, and generative innovation in unofficial cultures in China, with empirical evidence from one particular form of user-created media content—networked video spoofs. Through my research I hope to gain an understanding of the propagation of digital literacy by means of informal creative activities, and the use of the Web in China for the creation of new social networks, in a period of dynamic change both cultural and economic. I have a paper published in my field of research in Chinese Journal of Communication (Taylor & Francis).
